Debbie Hoadley

July 2, 1958 — July 24, 2017

Family written obit :

Debbie Hoadley died at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center on July 24, 2017. Cancer stole this amazing lady from us leaving behind her grieving mother, Nadene; daughters, Misty Koinis (husband James), Amber Guill Adrian & Stephaine Ward (husband Barry); four grandchildren, Camden, Macy, Kaya, and Lani; and countless biological, adopted, and foster brothers and sisters.

Deb was an accomplished artist, with an eclectic and imaginative style. She had the unique ability to see potential in all things broken, discarded, and otherwise forgotten. In recent years, local residents began to seek her out in order to obtain her work, most notably her extraordinary lamps.

This incredible lady was fearless with the strength of 1000 men. Though this was evident in her final days, her strongest point came in her decision on February 10, 1992. At the age of 33, she entered the Joseph L. Freidman Center in Paducah, KY. Here she took up with Bill W., never faltering in 25 years of sobriety.

Those who knew her best could not help but be influenced by her character. From her we have learned resiliency. We’ve learned that it is never too late to become the best version of you. We’ve learned the importance of hard work and loyalty…that nothing is more valuable than your word. We have learned to be kind and supportive, without judgment. We have learned that together we could overcome adversity. She worked hard each and every day so that we could overcome poverty, while she overcame addiction. We learned not to focus on our past mistakes but to own them, learn from them, and choose to do better.

We invite all friends and family to join us for a celebration of her life Saturday, July 29, 2017, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm at Lighthouse Landing in Grand Rivers, KY.

In this life, Deb cared more for others than  herself. Even through a terminal illness, she did not complain, concerned only for the welfare of those closest to her. In keeping with her values, in lieu of flowers we ask that you do something kind for someone else.

Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  On-line condolences may be left at www.lindseyfuneral.com
