Denis Lee Williams

Denis Lee Williams, age 80 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away Friday morning, July 28, 2017, at 1:45 AM at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna.

Denis was born September 5, 1936 in Williamson County Illinois. He was the son of Oscar Lee and Elvie Jane (Clark) Williams.

On December 17, 1986, Denis was united in marriage to Barbara (Sanders) Fick. She survives.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Denis is survived by: a daughter – Terre Lynn Miller of Antigo, Wisconsin; 2 sons – Allen Dale (his wife, Sulseob) Williams of Japan and Boyd (his wife, Jeanne) Williams of Vienna; a stepson – Keith Fick of Vienna; 8 grandchildren – Brian (his wife, Christa) Williams, Brandon (his wife, Heather) Daab, Kelly Daab, Brittney Daab, Alex Bynn Williams, Bram Ahn Williams, Charles Andrew (his wife, Rebecca) Williams and Matthew Boyd Williams; 13 great grandchildren; a sister – Lavina Moore of Indiana; 2 brothers – John Williams and Steven Williams both of Indiana; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Denis was preceded in death by: a son – Micah Andrew Williams; 2 sisters – Alice Moore and Doris Bradley; and a brother – Dale Williams.

Denis worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He was employed for many years by Schneider Transportation and later by U.P.G. (United Propane Gas), prior to his retirement.

Denis was of the Baptist faith. Additionally, he was proud of his immigrant Native American heritage.

He was an avid horseman. Denis trained horses through the years and operated the Illinois Studhorse farm for many years at Golconda.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date to be announced.
