Jimmy G. Bates, 77, born on February 23, 1940 went home to be with his Lord on Monday, September 11, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eula Doom Bates; two daughters, Donna (Jerry) Palmer, Shirley (John) Kelly; one son, Jimmy M. Bates; six grandsons; five granddaughters; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Dorothy Morris; and one brother, L.A. (Julie) Bates.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Bates; one son, Glen Jay Bates; one grandson, Ricky Jackson; two brothers, Tom and Paul Bates; and one sister, Jeanetta Dixon. His parents were Nolan and Glendon (Cobb) Bates.
Friends may visit the family from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday evening, September 14, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Speed the Light Missions at Victory Assembly of God at 1345 N Friendship Rd. Paducah, KY 42001.
