Joe Brown Millay

Joe B. Millay, 87, of Boaz, KY went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Joe was born on March 23, 1931 to William E. and Zada S. Millay.  Joe was a Corporal QMC in the US Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War.  He was a welder for Marine Ways and later a boiler maker welder for VMV/ICG Railroad.  He was a long-time member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Paducah, KY.

Mr. Millay is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, 2months and 6 days, Phyllis J. (Slagle) Millay; his son, Joe D. Millay and wife Marsha; daughters, Dana “Mikki” Martin and husband Steve and Donna M. Rust and husband Johnny; his grandchildren Stephanie Millay, Kimberly Millay, Paige Thomas and husband Chad, Ryan Martin, Haleigh Martin, Jordan Rust, and Laykin Rust.  He is also survived by his sisters, Emma Carmon and Blanch Butler and his brother Elery Gene Millay.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, William and Zada Millay; his brothers, Roy Wayne Millay, James Robert Millay, John Lawrence Millay and William Douglas Millay; and his sisters, Carrie L Willingham-Crutcher, Clara Virginia Floyd, and Joyce Geraldine Council-Walker.

Memorial services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1801 Guthrie Ave, Paducah, KY 42003, with Pastor Michael Brandenburg officiating.  Inurnment will be at Clarks River Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may visit the family Friday, December 14, 2018 from 5:00 -8:00pm at Full Gospel Tabernacle.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Starfish Orphan Ministry, 1000 Broadway, Paducah, KY 42001.  Starfish focuses on the needs of children in need and promotes adoption, which was a cause dear to Joe’s heart.
