Joyce (Buchanan) Killion

Joyce Killion, 76, of the Freemont Community in McCracken County, passed away at 6:31 a.m. on February 19th at Baptist Health Hospital of Paducah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.B. and Laurine Buchanan, and brother, W.D. (Bill) Buchanan. She was raised in the community of Melber, KY.  Her parents were tobacco farmers.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Gene Killion.  Others include her son, John of St. Louis, and grandson Nathan of Paducah, brothers, John Buchanan of San Diego, CA and Richard (Lana) Buchanan of the Freemont area and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Joyce and Gene spent most of their working career in the St. Louis area.  She was a secretary in the Junior College System.  There she had many close friends in the St. Louis area.

Upon her retirement, Joyce and Gene moved to the Freemont area thirteen years ago.  In that ten years they made many new friends around her community and renewed her relationships with high school class mates, cousins, and close friends.

Joyce was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lone Oak.  She loved and worshiped her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In writing her Eulogy a few weeks ago she stated that she is looking forward to seeing all those family and friends already in heaven and will be there to welcome family and friends who will follow her to heaven later.

Funeral services will be at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah, KY on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 1:00 P.m. with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating.  Burial will follow at the Kansas Cemetery in Graves County south of Melber.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
