Lelia Madge Keys Reising

Leila Madge Keys Reising gained her angel wings surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2017.   She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jim Reising of Benton; daughter, Rebecca (Reising) Renk (Brett) of Sun Prairie, WI; son, Andrew Reising (Pamela) of Clemmons, NC and four grandchildren.  She is, also, survived by her siblings:  sisters Rita Murray (Don) of Benton and Peggy Smith (Wesley) of Gilbertsville, brothers Jody Keys (Marie) of Grand Rivers and Dennis Keys (Barbara) of Ringgold, Ga., and their families.  She is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.  Madge was preceded in death by both of her parents, Robert, and Celia (Stiff) Keys and father-in-law, George Reising.

Madge was best known for the love of her family, grandchildren, quilting, dessert baking and generous, loving spirit.  She enjoyed many of her friends through her activities: Clarks River DAR (charter member), WKY/TN Stitchers (EGA), Quilt Lovers of Murray, Gold Wings Road Riders Assoc. Chapter of Mayfield, Christ Chapel Church (member) and donating quilts for charity at the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph.

Madge left the Western Kentucky area after graduating from South Marshall High School (’65) and Murray State University (’69) when she married Jim.  They raised their family primarily in Virginia and North Carolina.  She was enriched through her careers over the years as a teacher, home designer, seamstress and quilter.  After retiring, they returned to the area and were living in her dream home on Kentucky Lake.

Family will receive visitors from 2pm to 4pm, Friday, March 3rd at Purchase District of the United Methodist Church (formerly Brewers Methodist Church) located at 2285 Jack Treas Road Kirksey, KY 42054.  Her memorial service will be at 4pm.
