Richard Devon Willings

September 9, 1927 — May 23, 2017

Richard Devon Willings of Paducah passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his residence.

Command Sgt. Major Willings was retired from the United States Army after 27 years of service to his country. He served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. During his service, he received many decorations including the Bronze Star Medal.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving are his daughter, Linda Warford and husband Alan of Paducah; one brother, Larry A. Willings of Elkhart, IN; two granddaughters, Stephanie Hinz and husband Matt of Paducah; Natalie Blackmon and husband Ben of Clarksville, TN; and two great-grandsons, Landon Hinz and Weston Hinz, both of Paducah.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Anna Stephan Willings; and five brothers, Walter F. Willings, Jr., Robert E. Willings, Raymond L. Willings, James E. Willings, and William D. Willings. His parents were Walter F. Willings, Sr. and Goldie Irene Willings.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2017 in the chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Entombment will follow.
