Charleene Stevens

Charleene Stevens 95 Born October 29, 1921 went to her heavenly home on Saturday October 7, 2017.  Surviving are her daughter Roberta Kuhn and son Chuck Purnell (Toni) both of Paducah KY.  Four grandchildren Jeff Kuhn (Cori), Aimee Kuhn, Stacey Beversluis (Gary) and Amanda Stringer (Brent).  Six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.


She graduated from Grafton High School and West Virginia School of Business.  She was retired from Servico Inc. (parent company of Holiday Inns).  She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Bethel Chapter 269 of the Eastern Star, and a member of Estill 73 in Calvert City.


Although she had more than 65 addresses during her lifetime, for the last 26 years she called Benton KY home.  A longtime resident of Lakeland Wesley Village she served as treasurer of the association and volunteered in the office there for 20 years. She was an original member of the Kitchen Band.
She was a member of Maple Spring Methodist Church, where she served at the pancake breakfast, and worked in the New to You Store for over 20 years.

There will be no visitation.  A private service will be conducted at the Maple Springs Church Cemetery at later date.
