Kay C. (Strawn) Turner

It is with great sadness that the family of Kay C. Turner, age 80, of Paducah announces her passing on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. She was born to the late Clarence C. Strawn and Lillie Bell Strawn on November 2, 1938, in Bay City, Michigan.

Kay moved to Paducah with her family in 1976. She worked for the K-Mart Corporation for 35 years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing arts and crafts, crossword puzzles and collecting angels. Her family and friends will always remember her for putting her Christian beliefs into action through kindness, motherly love, and helping others. Her smile was contagious and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by a sister, Marian Borgacz of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Don Strawn (Carol) of Flint, Michigan; five daughters, Jamie K. McClellan (Brent) of Brookport, Illinois, Laurie A. Bennett of Paducah, Kentucky, Lisa M. O’Rourke (James) of Paducah, Kentucky, Kimberley S. Knight (Barry) of Paducah, Kentucky, and Tammy L. Brown (David) of West Paducah, Kentucky; one son, James C. Turner (Rose) of Charlotte, North Carolina; three stepdaughters, Sharon Nowak (Robert) of Trenton, Michigan, Debbie Reynolds of Wyandotte, Michigan, and Teresa Alick (Robert) of Mancelona, Michigan; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Turner; a brother, Ken Strawn; a sister, Lillian Linder; a stepson, Vernon Turner; a daughter, Gina M. Maulit; and both parents.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 30, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home with graveside services following at Maplelawn Cemetery.
