Minnie Agnes (Palmer) Smith

Minnie Smith, 92, of Reidland, formerly of Cairo, IL., died on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 at her home in Reidland. Minnie was born on July 12th, 1925 and was a retired office manager for Washington National Insurance Company. Minnie enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening. She used her sewing talents to make baby blankets that were donated to underprivileged and at risk infants throughout the region through Decorative Artists Club of Paducah. She also made chemo hats for the American Cancer Society.

Minnie is survived by one daughter, Linda (Don) Myrick of Calvert City, KY.; three grandchildren, William (Martha) Myrick of Dorr, MI., Karen Myrick of Calvert City, KY., and Paul Myrick of Paducah, KY.; three great grandchildren, William, Paige, and Sydney Myrick of Dorr, MI.; one sister, Carrie (Billy) Sams of Villa Park, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 50 years, Charles Smith; two sisters and one brother. Her parents were Glenn and Bessie Bagby Palmer.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 15th, 2017 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, IL. starting at 1pm. Friends and family will meet at the graveside.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions in her honor to the charity of your choice.
