It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of
Betty Malissa Curington.

Betty was born on September 29th 1954, to Tolbert and Laura Curington in Berry, Alabama and made her journey home to them on June 19th 2023.

Betty was an amazing Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and friend. The happiness and wellbeing of her children and grandchildren were her biggest priority and brought her the most joy.

Betty opened her heart and door to all, whether you were family, friend, or stranger. If you were in need, she was there to offer assistance and comfort. She always placed the wellbeing of others before her own. Betty will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Betty had a strong work ethic and began working at a very young age. She continued to work until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Betty was loved and appreciated by her friends and colleagues.

Betty's hobbies included cooking and card games. She excelled at both.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Tolbert and Laura Curington. Five sisters, WillaDean Kirby, Darlene Brewster, Doris Herron, Ruby Nelson, and Mary Sheppard. One brother, Justin (Jack) Lollar.

She is survived by five children: Carrie Curington, James Brewster, Jonathon Brewster, Heather Brewster, and Christopher Brewster, all reside in Metropolis, Illinois. Eight grandchildren : Stephanie Mcbride, Jonathon Brewster, Alyssa Brewster, Drake Brewster, Jesse Brewster, Stephen Brewster, December Brewster, and Abel Brewster. Two sisters: Charlotte Davis (Donald) of Wood Dale, Illinois, Cathy Lindholm (Jeffery) of Redmond, Oregon, and one brother: Charlie Curington (Hellen) of Murphysboro, Illinois. Multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

When you think of Betty, we ask that you remember her with a kind heart, word, and prayer.

All our love to you, Betty. May your journey be short and your welcoming tremendous. You will be forever in our hearts, missed and loved.

Memorial service will be held in Metropolis, Illinois

A celebration of life will be held at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Berry, Alabama.
The dates will be forthcoming.
