Dolores Davies, 81, of Paducah, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab after a short, but courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
She was born in Chicago, the daughter of George Bouzek and Loretta Marie Hojecki Bouzek. She had two sisters and three brothers, Marie, Dorothy, Joseph, George, and Fred. Her formative years were spent in a Polish community in Chicago. There she attended Kelly High School and studied at Heartland Community College. Dolores' personal interests included reading biographies and history, sewing, decorating her home, playing with her beloved dog Max, and cooking. She was a lover of hisoty and was the one in her family who researched and compiled documents pertaining to her ancestors, tracing the family's roots to Poland and Czechoslovakia. She passed down this family history to other family members along with fascinating stories about their ancestors. In her later years she could no longer driver, a special treat to her was the bus trips to the local Kroger. The Kroger managers expressed how they and the patrons enjoyed Dolores' fun-loving, kind and caring spirit and ways.
Dolores talked frequently and lovingl about her husband Wayne who precedes her in death. The family she leaves behind to remember her and honor her legacy include two nephews, Warner Bouzek of Greenville, SCand Fred Bouzek Jr. of Richmond, VA; two nieces, Jeanna Bouzek of North Carolina and Carole Bouzek Mitchell; her great-nephews, Jsutin and Ethan Warner of Celebration, FL; her great-nieces, Chandler and Riley Bouzek of Greenville, SC; her nephew's wife, Claudia Warner of Celebration, FL; and her sister-in-law, Glenda Bouzek of Macon, GA.
Delores will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery in Chicago, IL where she will rest in peace near her parents.
