Biography

Donald “Chigger” Battoe, 68, of Paducah died at 6 p.m. Monday at his home.

Mr. Battoe was of the Baptist faith, a U.S. Navy veteran, a pipefitter and welder and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184 in Paducah.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Karen Joy Scott Battoe; one daughter, Carri Renee Battoe of Paducah; one son, Jerry Don Battoe of Ledbetter; three sisters, Linda Sue Steger and Margaret Ann Turner, both of West Paducah, and Mary Ellen Lambert of Melber; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Martha Ellen Hyde Battoe; one granddaughter; one sister; and two brothers.

Services will be at noon Friday at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Russell officiating. Burial will be at Fooks Cemetery with military rites.

Friends may call from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
