DuWayne Lanell Weathers was called to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 9,2024 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah Ky. DuWayne was born on November 21,1972, in Louisville, KY. At the time of his transition, he was 51 years old.
DuWayne graduated from Heath High School in 1990. He took his love of cooking and turned it into a profession. Before his health declined, he was a 4-star chef at Harrah's Casino in Metropolis, IL. DuWayne was an avid sports fan and a lover of wrestling. He also loved to bowl and played on a league for many years.
DuWayne leaves his family and friends to cherish many memories, which includes: His mother, Anita G Weathers of West Paducah, Ky. One sister and brother in love, Shawnta (Frederick) Davis of Paducah, Ky. Three bonus sons, Andrew Looper Shaffer, Chandler Looper, and Jamesyn Vaughn, all of Paducah, Ky. Two nieces, Alexia Foster and Raevyn Weathers both of Paducah, Ky. Two great nieces, Ava Burgard and A'Jaia Shaw, both of Paducah, Ky. One maternal aunt, Colleen Brookins and one maternal uncle, Eurel Buchanan, both of Louisville, Ky. Four paternal aunts: Gracie Johnson and Winnie Dotson; both of Indianapolis, IN. Shirley Timmons of Ft. Lauderdale Fl and Cessely Weathers of Fordyce, AR. Several Cousins and friends.
He was proceeded in death by: his father, Rev. Dr. Jesse H. Weathers as well as his paternal grandparents; Otis Jr. and Elsie Weathers. His maternal grandparents, George Sr. and Selean Buchanan. Four maternal uncles also so proceeded him in death: Earl, George Jr., Calvin and Tyrone Buchanan. One paternal aunt Mattie Ruth Handley, and one brother in love Bishop Dotson.
A family planned Memorial service will be held in DuWayne's honor on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2pm at Washington Street Baptist Church, located at 721 Washington St. Paducah, Ky.
Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
