Elijah Allen

Elijah Allen, 65, of Metropolis passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis.

He was a retired gravedigger and of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed mowing with his best friend, Jesse Turner.

Surviving is his wife of 31 years, Janice Allen; one daughter, Edie Williams; three brothers, James Allen, McArthur Allen, Ray Allen; two sisters, Abadean Jackson, Leawa Brook; several grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Corine Allen; five brothers, Curtist Bond, Jack Allen, Charles Allen, Isaiah Allen, Joseph Allen; and three sisters, Lenora Jarman, Savannah Simmons, and Gloria Allen.

He will be cremated, and no services are scheduled at this time.
