Karlyn Lueva Young

Karlyn Lueva Young of Paducah, KY, went to be with her Lord on October 30, 2022, at River Haven Nursing Home. She was born December 29, 1949, to Howard and Mattie Greenwade. Karlyn was a proud graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. She went on to earn her Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice at West Kentucky Community and Technical College. After an apprenticeship with Lettie Cobb, Karlyn began working at June’s Beauty Shop. She had a deep love for cosmetology and could often be found with vibrant colored hair and lipstick.

Karlyn was an elder minister at New Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are several siblings—Mary Lunsford, Sandra Walker, Lucy Perry, Joanah Yates, Isaac Hobbs and Rev. Joseph Benberry. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Karlyn was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Onnia Brown and Theodora Benberry.
