Mary Yvonne Truitt

Mary Yvonne Edwards Truitt, 87, of Paducah, KY passed away peacefully on Friday June 21, 2024, at Rivercrest Place in Paducah. Yvonne was a loving mother, mother in-law and Grammy.

Yvonne was a active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. She was active in the senior ministry, senior choir, and greeter for Welcome Center and children’s church. She was a devoted Christian who deeply loved Lone Oak First Baptist and her Sunday School class. 

She retired from the Department of Employment Services. After retirement, enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, reading, walking, playing bridge, dominos and tending to her garden. 

She was a doting Grammy to her four precious grandchildren. She loved planning activities for them at the park, public library, skipping rocks at the riverfront and teaching them how to make chocolate gravy.

Yvonne is survived by her son, Todd Truitt (Pam Truitt) of Paducah, KY and daughter, Julie Kelley (Marshall Kelley) of Nashville, TN; also surviving are four grandchildren, Tyler Truitt, Caroline Kelley, Max Truitt and Carson Kelley as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Fulks Edwards; eight sisters, Mable Phelps, Katie Rudolph, Pauline Edwards, Lois Grace, Robbie Jones, Martha Grogan, Patsy Higgins and Shirley Mathis; four brothers, Paul Edwards, Steve Edwards, Gene Edwards, and Glen Edwards.

Graveside services will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Rosebower Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lone Oak First Baptist Building Fund, 3601 Lone Oak Road, Paducah, KY 42003.
