She was a member, for over 30 years, of TOPS No. 212 and had maintained her KOPS status for 30 years in 2008. Rosa was also a 20-year member of Rickman Road Baptist Church. She loved to travel and enjoyed towing her camper truck across the country. She most enjoyed visiting her family in Yuma, Ariz. She loved to cook and was known for her chocolate pie, green beans and dressing. She was an accomplished stained glass artist who learned from her brother, Sherman Housman. She made lampshades and windows, several of which are displayed at Rickman Road Baptist Church. She loved to read romance novels and she could always be found reading a Danielle Steel love story. She was a spunky lady who loved life and her family dearly.

Dye of Paducah; two grandchildren, Diane Lindley and Terry Ray Dye, both of Paducah; three great-grandchildren, Greg Lindley of Paducah, David Lindley of Littleton, Colo., and Josh Dye of Paducah; one great-great-granddaughter, Samantha Lindley of Paducah; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett L. and Rosa Catherine Grimm Housman; her husband, Ernest H. “Coley” Dye; two brothers, Buddy Housman and Sherman Housman; and two sisters, Valerie “Artie” Housman Ligon and Marguerite Housman Fleming.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, July 9, 2009, at Lindsey Funeral Home.
