Sherman Edward Carter, a beacon of strength and love, passed away at the age of 45 at the Ray and Kay Hospice Center in Paducah, Kentucky, after a courageous battle with the beast known as cancer. Born on December 30, 1978, in Dalton, Georgia, Sherman grew into a man of remarkable character, deeply cherished by all who knew him.

Sherman's journey in life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family. He shared 23 beautiful years with his loving wife, Marianne Carter. Together, they raised a vibrant family, including their daughters Britani Calhoun (Aaron Green), Aleeya Carter, and Kali Carter, as well as their sons John Calhoun, Kayne Carter, Colton Carter, and Lance Carter. Sherman embraced Johnathon Bloodworth (Jessica) as his son, reflecting the vastness of his heart.

The joy of Sherman's life was enriched by the arrival of his grandchildren, Haylen Green and Atlas Bloodworth, who will carry his legacy forward with the stories and memories shared by the family. His nurturing spirit was further extended to his mother, Gayle Francis (Patrick), and his brother, Kenny Carter (Trish). Sherman was preceded in death by his father, Ed Carter, and is survived by his mother-in-law, Debbie Suttles, and father-in-law, John Suttles. His sister-in-laws, Christy Crider (Don), Jennifer Culp (Kerry), Jean Thompson, and Leila Farmer (Jeffrey), along with a host of nieces and nephews, will remember Sherman for his boundless love and wise counsel.

Professionally, Sherman was a respected Plant Maintenance Supervisor at Daramic in Owensboro, Kentucky. His coworkers knew him as a skilled welder, a reliable colleague, and a man who brought integrity and excellence to every task. His strong work ethic and leadership were an inspiration in the workplace, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Beyond his family and work, Sherman was passionate about working out and weightlifting. His dedication and discipline in the gym were evident, as he achieved a personal best of an incredible 505lbs in bench pressing. This physical strength was a testament to his inner resolve, which he carried with him in all aspects of life.

Sherman will be remembered for his loving nature, courageous spirit, and unyielding optimism. He faced every challenge with a smile and instilled hope in those around him. His influence extended far beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many with his warmth and kindness.

As we bid farewell to Sherman Edward Carter, we celebrate a life lived to its fullest, marked by the love he gave and the strength he showed. His memory will continue to guide and inspire us, just as the light of the stars continues to shine long after they are gone from sight. Sherman's presence will forever be felt, and he will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
