Violet Joy Jones

Violet Joy Jones, 91, of Paducah passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah.

Violet was retired from San Antonio Baptist Association where she served as the financial secretary for over twenty years. Prior to that she served as a church secretary and treasurer for many years. She attended Twelve Oaks Baptist Church. She crocheted over 500 purses for Samaritan Purse Ministries. She also loved her little dogs.

Surviving is her daughter, Lynette (Rev. Jerry) Dry of Hickory; one brother, Jimmy Barnett of Victoria, TX; two grandchildren, Kenny (Tatiana) Dry of Magnolia, TX and Celesta (Chad) Goins of Metropolis; three great-grandchildren, Rev. Aaron (Aly) Gillis of Brookport, Joshua (Lauren) Allbritten of Kevil, Evan Allbritten of Colorado Springs; three great-great-grandchildren, Jacob Gillis, Lily Gillis, and Adalyn Allbritten; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jones; her parents, Willie Albert Barnett and Ruby Celesta Barnett; one son, Willie Joe Watts Jr.; and two brothers, James Arther Barnett and Willie Albert Barnett Jr.

Private family graveside services were held at Pottsville Church of Christ Cemetery with Rev. Aaron Gillis and Rev. Jerry Dry officiating.
