William Schmehr

William Raymond Schmehr 77 of Murray, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church in Mendota, Illinois at 12 pm on Saturday, September 17.2022. Visitation will take place from 10 am until just before services at Wasmer Funeral Home.

William (Bill) was born on March 1,1945 in LaSalle to Raymond and Teresa (Dzurison) Schmehr. He graduated Mendota High School in 1963, received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Northern Illinois University and obtained a Master's in Business Administration at Loyola University Chicago while raising 3 young children.  Bill was a Marketing Executive for Ace Hardware Corporation for 24 years and then worked for Phase III Inc. before retiring in 2005.  Bill loved the outdoors and spent his free time hiking, fishing, boating, and enjoying nature.  He loved to drive the Kentucky roads looking for wildlife.   Bill was a faithful member of the Catholic church.

He will be forever missed by his 3 daughters: Marcey (Marc) Zolner of Carmel, Indiana, Tina (Matt) Harrison of Carmel, IN, and Kimberly Schmehr of Denver, CO. and by his 2 sons: Jeffrey (Kandie) Schmehr of Irvine, CA and Kevin Schmehr of Aurora, IL; 8 grandchildren, brother David Schmehr of Succasunna, NJ, and sister RaeAnn Pedersen of Sugar Grove, IL.  Bill is preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Church.
