Bill Forthman

William “Bill” Forthman, 82, of Brookport, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Baptist Health Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Bill was born February 19, 1939in Stimson, Arkansas to his parents, Frederick and Bessie Forthman. Bill worked in the Chicago area at Rock Island Railroad and EJ and E Railroad for 10 years. After leaving the railroad, he started his own carpet cleaning business, then continued running his business after moving to Southern Illinois as Mid-South Carpet Cleaners.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Bessie Geraldine Forthman; a loving father to four sons, William Jr. (Peggy) Forthman, Robert (Cindy) Forthman, Tony (Susan) Forthman, and Adam (Tiffany) Forthman; 13 grandchildren, David (Susan) Forthman, Rob Forthman, Jill (Erik) Seely, Katie (Brett) Gentry, Emily Forthman, Skylor Stephenson, Sarah Forthman, Becky (Josh) Schweitzer, Bill Forthman, Jordan Forthman, Bryson Frothman, Brayden Forthman, and Brooklyn Forthman; 11 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Betty Bonner, Pearl O’Brien, James (Sandra) Forthman; nephew Jerry Brown and many more nieces and nephews.

Preceding Bill in death are his parents, and six siblings, Murphy Forthman, Ann Kennedy, Frank Forthman, Dorthy Brown, Roger Forthman, and Theodore Forthman.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.
