Dorothy Eilene (Bailey) Green
Obituary
Eilene Green, 92, formerly of Metropolis, received her heavenly reward on Saturday August 19th, 2023.
Eilene was a lifelong homemaker, wonderful mother who enjoyed reading, loved quilts, gardening, and especially attending church when the doors were open. Eilene was a lifelong member of Lighthouse Assembly of God in Metropolis, Illinois.
Eilene is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Roy) Ford of Attica, Indiana; son, David (Connie) Green of Tilton, Illinois; brother, Ralph Bailey of Louisville, Illinois; grandchildren, Mindy Wallace, Forrest Green, Steffanie Higgins, and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Larry Green; parents, Forrest Bailey and Jenny Myrtle Potts Bailey; daughter, Kimberly Green; five brothers, Lloyd, Forrest, Arden, Leon, and Clifford Bailey; and one sister, CoeDell Hilligoss.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 24th, 2023 at Lighthouse Assembly of God in Metropolis, Illinois from 12pm until 2pm with with funeral services starting at 2pm with Rev. Keith Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan Cemetery.
