Wayne Jesse Meinders
September 17, 1930 – May 14, 2023
Wayne of rural Massac County, IL passed away on Sunday evening at Parkview Nursing & Rehab in Paducah, KY.
Wayne was born to Fred & Lena Meinders on September 17, 1930. He enlisted in the Marines and served with honor.
On February 4, 1955, he married the love of his life Mary Louise Damron, to this union twins were born Curtis Wayne and Cheryl Ann. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jessica Furci, David Morrison III, Jesse Wayne Morrison, Katelin Wooten; also seven great-grandchildren. He is survived by a sister, Florence Korte of Metropolis.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruby Bakke, Virgie Hausman, Lester Meinders; his parents; and his loving wife.
Wayne was a member of the Church of Christ. Most recently Suwanne Church of Christ.
​Memorial service will be at 6:00pm on June 5, 2023, at the Metropolis Community Center. Military rites will be held.
